“Sew” Much Fun!
None stop laughter and fun learning were had by all who came to the first sewing class. We learned about the “right” and “wrong” side of fabrics, how to find the grain of fabric, how to read a pattern, and the basics of using a sewing machine. Our pillowcases turned out terrific!
A special sewer graduated from “no knowledge” to “basic” very quickly. Even in her youth, her determination through the 6-hour class, patience, attention to detail, and fun spirit reminded me of Colossians 1:11, for she was “Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness.”
In our rushed world, we often times forget the reward that comes from patience and perseverance. We must remember that learning is a process and anything worthy of greatness takes time and longsufferring to accomplish. Brick by brick a wall is built, and it’s the same with our understanding of a new skill or our walk with Christ. Piece by piece, day by day, we add to our “knowledge quilt”. Join us next month for another fun project that will add to our “patchwork” of life!
